The Japanese Art of Listening to Wood
Founded by Yasushi Yurugi in Kyoto, Analog Relax was born from his devotion to vinyl, jazz and the almost ritual pleasure of listening to records. Yurugi does not merely design phono cartridges; he collects thousands of LPs, is a musician, a drummer by training, a saxophonist by passion and a self-confessed admirer of Zoot Sims, having even created a fan club dedicated to the famous saxophonist, with the support of his widow.

Arte Poética
A EX1000 talvez seja o exemplo mais poético desta filosofia. O seu corpo é esculpido em cedro Yakusugi com mais de 2.000 anos, proveniente da ilha de Yakushima, no Japão. É uma madeira raríssima, de crescimento lentíssimo, marcada por anéis extremamente apertados e por uma resina natural que lhe confere propriedades acústicas únicas.
Poetic Art
The EX1000 is perhaps the most poetic example of this philosophy. Its body is carved from Yakusugi cedar more than 2,000 years old, sourced from Yakushima Island in Japan. It is an extremely rare wood, slow-growing, marked by very tight growth rings and by a natural resin that gives it unique acoustic properties.
Analog Relax EX2000
Já a EX2000, modelo de topo, muda de geografia, mas não de filosofia. O corpo é feito de spruce do Tirol do Sul, no norte de Itália, uma região associada às madeiras utilizadas nos grandes violinos clássicos. A esse corpo junta-se um revestimento ultrafino, uma bobina em cobre 6N, uma agulha Super Curve Line Contact MkIII e uma haste de diamante maquinado.
The EX2000, the flagship model, changes geography but not philosophy. Its body is crafted from spruce from South Tyrol, in northern Italy, a region associated with the woods used in great classical violins. To this body are added an ultra-thin coating, a 6N copper coil, a Super Curve Line Contact MkIII stylus and a machined diamond cantilever.

DOHMANN AUDIO
Em Viena, no High End 2026, Mark Döhmann demonstrou a nova versão do Helix One Mk3, agora com sistema de fixação por vácuo, uma solução que transforma o disco numa extensão do prato, em vez de simplesmente colocado sobre ele.
At High End 2026 in Vienna, Mark Döhmann demonstrated the new version of the Helix One Mk3, which now features a vacuum-system – a solution that turns the disc into an extension of the platter, rather than simply resting on top of it.
A sucção suave puxa o vinil contra o prato, reduzindo empenos, bolsas de ar, micro-ressonâncias e pequenas instabilidades que podem afetar a leitura. O objetivo é proporcionar à agulha uma superfície mais estável e plana, facilitando a leitura das espiras.
The gentle suction pulls the vinyl against the platter, reducing warping, air pockets, micro-resonances and minor instabilities that can affect playback. The aim is to provide the stylus with a more stable and flat surface, making it easier to read the grooves.
A bomba não funciona durante a reprodução, evitando o ruído mecânico, e o vácuo mantém o disco preso ao prato apenas o tempo necessário para ouvir uma face inteira. Assim, o disco deixa de ser um corpo estranho em cima do prato e passa a fazer parte dele.
The pump does not operate during playback, thereby avoiding mechanical noise, and the vacuum keeps the record held to the platter only for as long as it takes to play an entire side. In this way, the record ceases to be a foreign object on top of the platter and becomes part of it.
A Dohmann já não se preocupa apenas com a rotação estável ou o silêncio mecânico; quer controlar tudo: até o ar entre o vinil e o prato passa a ser suspeito.
Dohmann is no longer concerned merely with stable rotation or mechanical silence; it wants to control everything: even the air between the vinyl and the platter is now under scrutiny.
Claro que tudo isto tem um preço, ou a Dohmann não fizesse parte da TEN Collection. Mas, neste campo, já não estamos a falar de comprar um gira-discos. Estamos a falar de investir numa plataforma analógica na qual cada vibração residual e cada pequeno empeno do vinil fazem parte da lista de inimigos a abater.
Naturally, all this comes at a price – otherwise Dohmann wouldn’t be part of the TEN Collection. But in this realm, we’re no longer talking about buying a record player. We’re talking about investing in an analogue platform in which every residual vibration and every slight warp in the vinyl are on the list of enemies to be eliminated.

HSE Swiss Masterline 8 line preamplifier
A HSE Swiss é o tipo de marca que não precisa de uma segunda oportunidade para causar uma boa primeira impressão. Nem de um catálogo cheio de modelos. Fundada em Zurique por Robert Huber, antigo engenheiro da Revox/Studer, trouxe a disciplina do áudio profissional suíço para o mundo exclusivo do high-end, onde o preço raramente é obstáculo.
HSE Swiss is the sort of brand that doesn’t need a second chance to make a good first impression. Nor does it need a catalogue packed with models. Founded in Zurich by Robert Huber, a former engineer at Revox/Studer, it has brought the rigour of Swiss professional audio to the exclusive world of high-end audio, where price is rarely an obstacle.

In Vienna, HSE Swiss showcased the Masterline 8, which had already been unveiled as a poorly kept secret at High End 2025 in Munich, where Hificlube had the opportunity to interview Robert Huber.
O Masterline 8 é um pré-amplificador de linha com 12 estágios de ganho independentes e totalmente discretos, concebido para ser o centro de controlo de um sistema integralmente balanceado. De cor champanhe, com aplicações douradas e VUímetros, segue a linha estética e técnica do pré-amplificador de phono Masterline 7 — e foi construído para durar pelo menos 30 anos.
The Masterline 8 is a line preamplifier with 12 independent and fully discrete gain stages, designed to serve as the control centre of a fully balanced system. Champagne-coloured, with gold trim and VU meters, it follows the aesthetic and technical path of the Masterline 7 phono preamplifier — and has been built to last at least 30 years.
